Columbia Aged Care Services is transforming its digital environment for residents and staff. We call it The Chrome Project.
This means replacing the internet, the computers and some of the software that you use to do your job. We want to make information easier to find, make the system easier to use as well as improving the experience for residents and their families through the use of technology!
The Chrome Project will introduce:
A faster and more reliable network for internet, voice and systems access
New, faster computers (and more of them) for staff when and where they need it
A new security system for safe internet access with less restrictions
More than just a new computer...
The Chrome Project will take advantage of secure, cloud-based computing using the Google Chrome operating system, devices and Google Workspace.
This means everyone will have access to the same computing experience, with easier access to the systems and information you need without the clutter of things you don't need.
We'll also be looking at key processes and systems to make daily working life easier!
In early 2022, the CEO of Columbia Aged Care Services, Lucy O'Flaherty, commissioned a report by Honestally to better understand the IT and business challenges faced by the organisation. The Chrome Project was born out of Honestally's report, to adopt recommendations for change.
The Chrome Project Workgroup has been created to help manage change over the next twelve months. The Workgroup is made up od the executive team, Honestally as well as key stakeholder representatives from each home.
The project will require all Columbia staff to learn a new computer system, and be patient, as the upgrades take time to complete. The Chrome Project is going to bring positive change to the organisation, but we all know change can sometimes be daunting.
The Chrome Project Workgroup will provide you with the information and any training and support you might need.
